What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a popular time-management method invented by Italian Francesco Cirillo. Cirillo was struggling to focus on his studies and complete assignments. Feeling overwhelmed, he asked himself to commit to just 10 minutes of focused study at a time. Encouraged by the challenge, he found a tomato (“pomodoro” in Italian) shaped kitchen timer, and the Pomodoro technique was born.

How to adopt Pomodoro with Galarm?

Believers will say that the Pomodoro Technique is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Now it’s time to put the method into action. Here’s how to plan your pomodoros with Galarm:

Step 1: Set a 25 minute alarm in Galarm for the task you want to do.

Step 2: Work on the task until the alarm goes off in Galarm.

Step 3: Schedule a short break of 5 minutes using Galarm’s quick alarm feature. Do something that is contrasting to your work like go for a short walk or just fill yourself a cup of green tea.

Step 4: Repeat the steps 1 to 3 for a total of four times. After four pomodoros, take a longer break of 30 minutes. Use these 15 minutes for leisure like read a few pages of the book that you are currently reading, have lunch, or have a short meal.

Over time, with this technique you’ll be able to train your brain to complete the full 25 minutes of continuous work without any internal or external interruptions.
